amnesia?

So I got my hair cut today and did some driving while it was beautiful out and I briefly attended work to learn about how to run the store next week when it's mine. Essentially I am the queen of jewelery (and also comic books from the library!) until the 11th.

As for the last little while - I can't remember! I actually can't! The last thing I recalled easily was last Friday!

I'm bored and kind of lonely I guess. My brain is atrophying.

Why hasn't anybody taken the initiative to write Great Gatsby fanfiction? This is a niche just asking to be filled with juvenille prose I think.

Also important achievements: I bought a dress, and I bought DVDs that I can watch. Neat.

Tomorrow I pick my courses for next fall! It's going to be kind of shitty. I have 8:30 classes and a lot of classes the rest of the day too. It was nice while it lasted, late mornings!

I had an 11cm cyst and they took it and my left ovary out. I went into the hospital on Thursday, I think, after it took a couple days for them to get me a stupid ultrasound and results. I got out today. I can't do a lot of things particularly well, including walking and going back to school.

So, bummer.

I think the next time I'm home I'm going to format my desktop computer and install Linux or at least Windows again. All I can think of that I want to save are my Sims.

Is that sad? Outside of weird computer science major world?

Yesterday I went to the MDHS Battle of the Bands and I think we were too old for it. The Diverse Attraction won because they were the only real band - though another one played impressive stoner jams and had a gong! I voted for them.

I'm going back to school tomorrow and it should be nice. I am feeling better, I think, from my second godforsaken painful fucking cyst thing. It hurt lots and if it happens again I am marching (limping?) into a doctor's office and demanding (weakly begging for?) something to fix it for real.

i will wake up in the morning

Tomorrow we are signing a lease so that we can live in a house! A wonderful house! It seems like an awfully grown-up decision when held up against anything else exciting in my life (for example, WOO READING WEEK TIME TO PLAY VIDEO GAMES).

It has rooms and a kitchen and bathrooms and walls to make our own and it is right next to the mall and the bus stop.

I am well now but sleeping badly and bogged down an awful lot by programming and other work that I guess I should do.

still in good health

I had bronchitis last week and this weekend I apparently suffered from an ovarian cyst. That is, a cyst on my ovary that was leaking fluid into where there ought to be none. The doctor likened it to an appendix burst but non-lethal - just obnoxious and and excruciating. Needless to say I spent the weekend on my couch watching John Cusack movies. Then my mom took me to buy socks, which is evidently a cure for any ailment.

What else is new!

A while ago some other stuff happened like car crashes and drama and selected television shows being on but whatever. I am pretty content now that I am alive.

yippee

It's 2007 and I am pretty glad.

In other news, Final Fantasy 12 is so good. Sky pirating is my favourite fantasy profession. This morning I came home and tried to play a bit but I kept falling asleep during battles, awoken only by the dualshock controller in my hands, telling me I was being attacked pretty bad.

Everything is good I think.

christmas

It was a pretty good Christmas, I would say. I got skates and socks and slippers (not to mention slipper socks). My feet are set.

I watched The Muppet Christmas Carol and had to work hard to not weep shamelessly through the whole thing. There were just too many sad muppets, then happy muppets, then uplifting songs, then sad again, then happy, and besides that, so much Christmas spirit all in one place. A rollercoaster of emotions! As I once embarassingly said, hormones are real.

Tomorrow I might brave boxing day at the mall (while not braving the jewellery store boxing day scene) and buy Final Fantasy XII. It is like 50% off! Then I will play it. All my little heart really desires, ever, is deals on role playing games.

Failing that plan, I will play more Bookworm Adventures.

Merry Christmas, for the remaining ten minutes or so.

ok whatever

I guess updating this is as good as studying English literary terms. Jerks.

So basically I've been staying up late - and I didn't used to. In the summer I was almost always in bed by midnight. Today I woke up before noon and Tara and I had breakfast and it was the best morning I can think of - namely because I haven't bothered with mornings in a little while. Since, say, last Thursday, at least. There's snow on the ground and it's bright out and we watched Love, Actually last night so pretty much I am in a Christmassy mood rather than an exam mood. Also I have accomplished a lot today and it is not even two. I even cleaned my room.

This semester I learned a lot about essay writing - sort of - and a lot about editing others' essays. I learned a lot about math and how to ace a test on it (you sit in the lounge and do math for a day or two), and how to fail a test on it (you study the wrong things and ride around in shopping carts). I learned to program in C, and how not to send an email to a TA asking him to not give you a shitty mark on an assignment. Additionally I learned how sit in the back and giggle, and play Bejeweled, and listen to Matt be a know-it-all during computer science lectures. Once I talked to two really hardcore computer science guys at once. It was a little weird. They were a little weird.

I learned that I hate sociology. Also I learned that I love art history.

One weekend I went to Uxbridge and I did an epically poor job of driving standard, and I exercised my bad karma at Tim Hortons by spilling my coffee. One weekend I took a bus to Hamilton and saw Chris and his McMaster friends and we stayed up playing video games and watching Pirates. Last weekend I just watched MTV and played Starcraft and apparently said some things that were pretty nonsensical and/or hilarious.

I'm looking forward to the Christmas break, but at the same time I'll kind of miss Guelph and everyone and everything. Last night we went for dinner and reminisced a little; it was ridiculous. Next semester is going to be so amazing, with no morning classes, and studio art and even sociology again - because I don't have it at 8:30 in the morning, at the other end of campus! I forsee more breakfasts! And more coffee!

Also I use my livejournal a lot more. I think you should know.
